While online videos are an obvious medium to showcase a dancer, or dance company, other social networking tools can also be effective for marketing and community building. How have you seen dancers use social media effectively?

One thing I see an increase in is freelance dancers who use social media such as Twitter and Facebook to promote themselves. Personally, I have found several interview subjects for my dance blog through social media. It can’t hurt to have a presence–and social media is more dynamic than a website.
